South Korean convenience store chain Emart24 has partnered with local cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb to introduce a new Bitcoin “meal box.” The meal boxes will be available for purchase in-store, with approximately 30,000 boxes set to be available by the end of the month. Each box will cost 5,900 Korean won (USD $4.30). Customers who download Bithumb’s app and enter the coupon code found in each meal box will receive 10,000 won worth of Bitcoin. Bithumb is offering 20,000 won worth of Bitcoin to customers who create a Bitcoin account with NH Nonghyup bank and connect it to Bithumb.
Bithumb is one of South Korea’s leading cryptocurrency exchanges and is a member of the Digital Asset Exchange Association (DAXA). It has expressed its intentions to become the first crypto exchange listed on the South Korean stock market but has faced delays with its plans for an IPO.
