X Bans Celebrity Memecoin Promoter Sahil Arora

The social media platform X has recently taken action by suspending the “@Habibi_Comm” account of Sahil Arora, who is alleged to be a serial scammer. Arora’s account has come under scrutiny for using manipulated screenshots clearly showing fabricated conversations with Australian musician Iggy Azalea. The account has been used to promote various celebrity memecoins, which have faced scam allegations, thus violating the platform’s guidelines.

Iggy Azalea, having created her own cryptocurrency, has distanced herself from Arora amidst these claims. She is not alone in her stance, as both Olympian Caitlyn Jenner and the American rapper Rich the Kid (Dimitri Leslie Roger) have also accused Arora of organizing memecoin scams that misuse their brand names. The accusations have not deterred Arora from continuing to advertise purportedly false partnerships and launching new celebrity-endorsed memecoins.

For instance, on June 3, Arora claimed a collaboration with the cryptocurrency exchange BingX. BingX has firmly denied any association with him. A spokesperson from BingX communicated via LinkedIn that they are not working with Arora, dismissing his claims of partnership as false. Despite this denial, Arora proceeded to promote another celebrity memecoin, this one linked to American hip hop artist, Offset (Kiari Kendrell Cephus). Offset, who has also accused Arora of fraud, appears to have some history with him according to screenshots obtained by .

Interestingly, a Solana-based memecoin project has come forward on the condition of anonymity, revealing that Arora had previously introduced them to Offset in March. Acting as an intermediary, Arora facilitated the introduction as the memecoin project aimed to collaborate with Offset to promote their cryptocurrency. Unfortunately, the project transferred $20,000 to an address provided by Arora, only for Offset to later claim that he never received the funds. Subsequently, both Arora’s @Habibi_Comm account and Offset blocked the memecoin project.

Despite having his main account suspended, Arora is reportedly believed to manage multiple accounts on platform X. He has been seen directing his followers to a new account through his Telegram channel. Though his @Habibi_Comm account has been banned, this has not stopped Arora from continuing his activities online.

Before his social media ban, Arora had also been promoting relationships with notable figures like boxing legend Floyd Mayweather and actor Lindsay Lohan. These affiliations were broadcasted across his platforms, likely as a means to bolster his credibility in the eyes of his followers and potential victims.

These revelations bring into question the effectiveness of social media platform X’s regulations and the measures in place to prevent such fraudulent activities. It serves as a reminder for users to remain vigilant and skeptical of claims made by seemingly trustworthy accounts.

In the ever-evolving landscape of social media and cryptocurrency, it is crucial to highlight the importance of due diligence. As celebrity-endorsed projects continue to attract attention, distinguishing legitimate opportunities from potential scams is becoming an increasingly pertinent challenge for both consumers and regulators alike.
